Who we are
We are a husband and wife team, Kevin and Frances Crean and parents to our 4 beautiful children.
In the summer of 2006 we had a health scare with our daughter.
She was 6 at the time and attending a day camp.
Nobody had contacted us to inform us that she was unwell and when she was collected we realised she was very ill and needed to be rushed to hospital.
She had all the symptoms of meningitis, every parent’s worse fear.
We were one of the lucky ones – and thankfully we got the all clear.
As parents, we wished her to have a device that was safe for her to use and that would allow her to contact us should the need arise.
Our search took us to the United States where we found Firefly Mobile.
As parents we were amazed that nothing like this was already on the market.
We had a need to give our daughter a mobile phone but even the simplest handset was not suitable for her.
After speaking to numerous parents we felt there was a need for this product to be brought to the market.
We spent a year preparing our business plan, researching the market and getting the finances together to get the business started.
We are the exclusive distributors of Firefly products in Ireland and the UK. Kevin has over 19 years experience within the Retail and Mobile Telecommunications sector. I have worked in recruitment for over 5 years, with experience in Office Management, Marketing and Sales but my best experience has come from being a parent. We both work full-time for our business.
