We are hugely proud to support The Baby Max Wings of Love charity.
As parents it is always your worst fear that your child becomes seriously ill. Let alone be faced with the prospect of the vital equipment needed to help your child recover not being available.
Our hospitals spend huge time fund raising to purchase vital equipment for their hospitals but unfortunately the sad reality is that all our hospitals need more equipment.
BABY MAX-Wings of Love Fund was founded by Darina Ni Chuinneagain & Declan Donnelly following the tragic death of their son Max in 2001 age 10 months to Meningitis B and Meningococcal Septicaemia.
The first goal of the fund was to purchase a badly needed Hemofiltration Machine for Temple Street, Children’s Hospital.
At the time Max became ill Temple Street didn’t have this vital piece of equipment.
A Haemofiltration Machine was the first piece of equipment purchased by The Baby Max Wings of Love Fund and hundreds of children have to date come off this machine successfully.
Due to the huge response Darina and Declan decided to take things a step further and make contact with all the Children’s Hospitals & Paediatric Units nationwide as to what vital medical equipment they were missing. As a result of these actions, the BABY MAX-Wings of Love Fund has to date purchased in excess of €1 million worth of all types of necessary medical equipment for Hospitals/Hospices in Dublin, Mullingar, Sligo, Galway, Cork, Kerry, Limerick & Waterford to name but a few.
In memory of Max and to help save the lives of other children, Darina and Declan continue to purchase vital medical equipment for Hospitals/Hospices and Paediatric Units nationwide.
